how to, microsoft, windows, microsoft, microsoft shares fix for outlook login issues

Microsoft is working on a way to solve the ongoing sign-in issue that affects some outlook users and customers.

The login problem preventing users from accessing their accounts is currently being addressed by Windows according to their team, Bleeping Computer writes.

Microsoft Says They Are Trying To Work Around The Issue With Outlook Logins

For the past few days, some Windows users have complained about not being able to sign in into any of their Office 365 applications.

This login error does not let users access their accounts as it refuses to display the credentials window where the password must go to.

This issue has been a problem for both Windows 10 and 11 users, where instead of signing in, Outlook provides them with a message asking them to use a work or school account in place of a personal account.

While the company is trying to look for a long term solution to the issue, Windows offers users with a temporary fix that will let them work around their troubles with logging into the system.

The Outlook team says that this official workaround will be out for those who want to log into their accounts until an actual fix becomes widely available for the system.

Bleeping Computer says that Windows users can turn off Support Diagnostics for the meantime, which disables the option to submit an In App ticket using Help.

Microsoft says that the bug is connected to how Outlook is authenticating diagnostics, which is why they should then select Contact Support.

After this, users have to enable Disable Support Diagnostic Policy Setting to prevent outlook from communicating with client information on the failure to support services.

According to the Group Policy Administrative Catalog, the Disable Support Diagnostics policy setting determines if Outlook can diagnose the issue by making information available to the support.

Just earlier this month, the company addressed another issue affecting Outlook users and customers with a Microsoft 365 freeze and crash after launching the software application.

What Could Have Been The Potential Causes Of the Crash

Appauls writes that the crash affecting users’ access to Outlook through logging in may have been caused by several different triggers that directly or indirectly caused the issue.

If users can type their usernames but are not given a password window to login, the problem may have been caused by a credential inconsistency.

This inconsistency caused by cached MS Office credentials can be avoided by making sure that there is no cached data in the Office 365 account using the Credential Manager utility.

The problem with the password field can also be caused by a newer authentication protocol Microsoft deployed recently, which can be avoided by using the old legacy authentication instead.

Meanwhile, if the problem is with how users experience first attempt sign in issues after migrating to Windows 11, this might only be fixed by migrating back to a local account.

Additionally, Appauls says that if users are experiencing odd issues when logging in to another app, the system might be corrupted and can only be fixed by repair or clean installation procedures.

Aside from this issue and the bug from early October, the company has also recently addressed a problem that triggers Outlook email clients to crash when reading emails containing tables.
